The short answer

A brand wants to know who watches, why the product fits, what the video may do, and whether the creator can do the work well.

Creators Agency has helped negotiate and bring more than 4,000 sponsored videos and posts live since 2021. The same rule keeps coming back: audience trust comes first.

Start with the value you can make

A brand is not buying your channel page. It is asking if your work can help a real goal.

You may see that the company has no clear YouTube video for its product. You may know that your viewers ask about the problem it solves. You may have an idea for an ad the brand could use in its own paid work. Start there.

Make the idea clear and small. Name the viewer, the need, the video idea, and the next action. Do not promise a sale.

Know your normal views

Follower count can be old. A brand needs a fair view of what a new video may reach.

  1. Pick at least 10 recent videos.
  2. Use videos that had time to get most of their views.
  3. Use videos like the one that may hold the ad.
  4. Remove rare highs and rare lows.
  5. Find the average and keep the low-to-high range.

Also save the viewer country and the topics that draw the right people. Read comments for real needs and questions. Do not use one comment rate as a pass or fail rule.

Bring proof that saves the brand time

Add the key facts in the email or call. Do not make the buyer hunt through links for the main point.

  • Normal views and how steady they are
  • The viewer country that matters to the plan
  • Past sponsor work or sales proof you may share
  • A video or ad example that shows your style
  • A clear reason the product fits your viewers

No past deal is not a reason to make up proof. Use your own videos, viewer questions, and a useful content idea. Say what you know and what you do not know.

Build your proof sheet

Use this before a brand talk. It does not rate your channel or promise a deal.

Be ready for the questions

A brand may ask who watches, which videos show the fit, what past work you can share, and where the ad would sit. It may ask about dates, review work, claims, links, and reports.

A good answer is short and true. If you need to check, say so. A fast answer can help the talk, but it does not promise a deal.

Make the paid tie clear

Ask what the brand needs. Check the current FTC and YouTube rules. A platform label may not meet every duty for each place or ad.

Talk about the fee at the right time

Do not send a bare fee before there is a clear value plan, real brand interest, and full work.

When those facts are clear, keep the fee next to its reason. Name the brand value, the creator work, the ad type, the review work, the post plan, and the report work. The market will set the final fee.

Use the sponsor rate calculator for fee math. Use the media kit guide to put your proof in one place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do brands care more about followers or normal views?

Normal views are more useful for a new ad plan. Use at least 10 recent videos that had time to grow. Remove rare highs and lows, then find the average and range.

What if I have no past brand deal to show?

Use true proof from your own channel. Share normal views, viewer fit, useful comments, and a clear video idea. Do not make up past results.

When should a creator share a fee?

Wait until the value plan, brand interest, and full work are clear. Then keep the fee beside the value and the work that explain it.
